About the Gateway

Purpose of the Gateway

The purpose of the Greater Chicago Nonprofit Gateway is to provide easily accessible nonprofit resource information for nonprofit practitioners, educators, students, board members, donors, volunteers, management assistance providers and consultants and others interested in the local nonprofit community through the use of on-line technologies, to provide linkages to learning opportunities and local nonprofit events, and to help facilitate communication across the local nonprofit community.

Join the Gateway

The Gateway is a free resource for nonprofit professionals.  Members are able to post job announcements, donations/funding opportunities, and nonprofit tips (once contact information has been verified).  Posted items are featured in our weekly e-newsletter sent to all Gateway members.  For those who are interested in becoming a community blogger, please e-mail axselson@northpark.edu to request the blogging guidelines.

Management of the Gateway

The Greater Chicago Nonprofit Gateway is a project of the Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management at North Park University in Chicago.   The Axelson Center, a component of North Park University, began in 1999 as a university-wide center, dedicated to the study and teaching of nonprofit management.   The Axelson Center Advisory Board has played a key role in the conception and ongoing development of the site.   In addition, valuable assistance and guidance has been provided by an informal coalition of nonprofit organizations dedicated to enhancing the effectiveness of the nonprofit sector in the greater Chicago area.

This website is managed by Tracey Starkovich, Program Manager for the Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management.   If you have suggestions for improving the site or if you would like to be involved in the ongoing development of this site, please contact Tracey at:
